Criminal Background Checks Are Not Enough
The Private Duty Selection System is an on line assessment tool for caregiver applicants that measures job fit and attitudes. Specifically, the assessment will measure 3 key areas that research has found to be key indicators of success in the role of caregiver:
- Integrity
- Cognitive Reasoning
- Personality and Behavior
The results of this assessment will then be bench-marked by comparing individual results to a large national sample of successful caregivers to try to identify common traits and behaviors. After completing the online assessment, caregivers will still follow all of the normal steps in the screening process – Formal Interview, Reference Checks, Background Checks. In fact, behavioral interview questions will be tailored to an individual’s assessment results to further streamline our process and ensure that we hire quality caregivers.
While criminal background checks are an extremely important part of the applicant screening process – they are not enough. At The Home Option, we strive to find differentiating factors that set our company apart from other non-medical home care providers. We want our referral sources to feel confident about client service when they refer seniors and their families to our company.
